Dear colleagues,

it gives me great pleasure to invite you to MEDNET 99 - The Fourth Annual
World Congress on the Internet in Medicine.

MEDNET 99 is an international meeting which aims to bring together
researchers, developers and users involved in the application of the
internet in medicine. The Congress will provide a forum for exploration of
the rapidly developing relationship between medical sciences and the
internet, and is relevant to all medical and health care professionals, as
well as those involved in the development and application of the new
technological opportunities offered to the medical field by the internet and
the world wide web.

This year's Congress will take place over three full days, 19th - 21st
September 1999, in the small and beautyful town of Heidelberg, one of the
most famous tourist destinations in Germany and the town with the oldest
German university.

It will be preceded by a series of tutorials and workshop on Saturday, 18th
September. In workshops researchers with an interest in Internet and
Medicine will discuss the latest developments and future projects in
Internet communication and Telemedicine and in tutorials experts will
transfer their knowledge to colleagues (SEE ALSO "CALL FOR WORKSHOP/TUTORIAL
PROPOSALS" BELOW).

A more detailed call for papers will be issued in March 99.

Please note the deadlines
- proposals for workshops and tutorials: Deadline March 31st, 1999
- abstracts: Deadline April 30th, 1999

I hope to see you in Heidelberg,
