Basic Literature of Acupunture in Medline: A Bibliometric Analysis

Abstract: This bibliometric study analyzes the references of articles on
acupuncture searched by the Medline during the period from 1988 to 1992.
The 1457 articles distributed in 382 periodicals were illustrated in order
to identify reasonably a heirarchical ranking of periodicals according to
the number of articles and to evaluate objectively a distribution of
countries where those articles were contributed and languages in which
those articles were written.Over this period, the numbers of authors ranged
from one to 10+ and the mean number of authors is 2.68.
