Das Gesundheitswesen in Südtirol ist in Form von vier Sanitätsbetrieben organisiert. Jeder dieser Sanitätsbetriebe (Mitte-Süd, West, Nord, Ost) besteht aus einem oder mehreren Krankenhäusern und einer Vielzahl von Diensten, die die medizinische Versorgung in der Peripherie gewährleisten.

Zur Verbesserung der medizinischen Literatur- und Informationsversorgung in Südtirol arbeitet zur Zeit eine Arbeitsgruppe mit Vertretern aus drei Bibliotheken Bozens am Projekt „Virtuelle Medizinische Bibliothek Südtirols“.

Public Health in South Tyrolia is organised in the form of four sanitary undertakings. Each of these sanitary undertakings (middle-south, west, north, east) consists of one or more hospitals and a multitude of services, which ensure medical care at the periphery.

Presently a working group with representatives of three libraries of Bozen is working on the project “Virtual Medical Library South Tyrol” to improve the supply of medical literature and information.
